I just wanted to point out that Churchill Falls hydro plant does not just power local mines etc, it actually powers all of the northeast US! Quebec makes multi BILLIONS of $$ from it because the rights were signed over in a 99 year lease when they built it. You really should have taken the tour, it’s pretty amazing! I work there a lot in the 900 foot deep cable shafts.
Hi Mike, thanks for that information. It seems like it could be Canada that converts the US to green power in the future with the huge amounts of hydro-power that is being sent across the border.
I wish I’d had the time to visit the Churchill Falls hydroplant. When I set off it seemed like 5 months was a huge amount of time to explore but in the end there was so much that I had to pass by with only a cursory glance.
Thanks again,
Adrian
